Overview

ClarityFirst is dedicated to the creation of print and online documents that are clear, concise and easy to use.  The technical writing cycle requires effective planning and information gathering before the actual writing begins. We are always cognizant of the "human factor," which includes an awareness analysis of our client audience. We recall a placard on the wall of one of our early clients inscribed with the ironic words, "You're doing a great job, but you're doing it all wrong."

Our response to that is: Study and know your subject matter; study and know your audience; know both as well as your client manager. Keep all three in mind for every written communication. This has been ClarityFirst's success formula.

Technical Writing Capabilities

From our base in Naperville Illinois, ClarityFirst has exported our technical writing skills coast- to-coast.  Among our most challenging and exciting engagements, was the setup of an technical document library for a  leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer in Silicon Valley during most of 1994. 

The project was a $50 million SAP implementation, and it was the first time we used RoboHelp to create online documents.  Writing in various stages of completion was rolling in from every department.  We had to apply standards, obtain buy-in from the "key players," and then apply those standards to create cohesion and unity.  In keeping with this theme, we were dubbed the "In-Synch" process.

• Occasionally there is a change to the scope of a project, initiated by the client.  For this reason, it is of primary importance for us to provide our clients with prompt "impact reports" that address any potential change to the bottom line for our documentation services, and obtain their approval before any additional expense in incurred. 

• From a cost perspective, we have managed projects with writing budgets from $12,000 to over $200,000.
