Why does 'Help' come in different formats?

 

 

 

The WebHelp model shows that most 'Help' documents originate as static printed text and are converted to dynamic Online Help.  


Some 'Help' documents originate as non-browser Windows Help or .chm HTML Help. These formats were the forerunners of WebHelp.

 

 

 

 

Note that Web-enabling 'WebHelp' allows a relatively simple conversion from either an HTML or Windows format.


In WebHelp, it is also possible to quickly convert Help documents to print manuals.
